I honestly never thought that this would be something I would ever do. To write about yourself like this just seemed so selfish and self gratifying, but I decided to give it a try. Living in rural Northern Canada does not allow for much stimulation in an artistic sense. Shopping here is a hunt. But I relish in it as they say necessity is the mother of invention, greatly cliche I know, but very true. Having some sewing skills and a fabulous mother who can sort out anything certainly helps.
I'm currently baking cookies, molasses ginger, double chocolate and chocolate chip. Half of them are for home and the other half are for my dad and brother to take to the ski club tomorrow. They are tidying up the trails before the snow comes. Hopefully the weather will be better than last year where it was very wet and we barely got to go out. But, back to the cookies, it can be extremely difficult to gauge chocolate cookies. They look done on top for a long time, but then the bottoms can be perfect or burnt. Parchment paper is certainly a godsend, it saves many baking tins and cookies and waistlines!
Well, I don't want to over do it on the first day, so I shall leave you with some yummy pictures of cookies. I warn you that my photography skills are dire as is my camera, but I will try my best! I plan on many more posts to come, more interesting than this one I assure you.
